About these figures
- Only published reports are counted. Every report is reviewed by IAWRT before publication.
- Dates refer to when the incident happened, not when it was reported.
- Incidents are counted where they happened. A report can belong to more than one type of incident, so the types add up to more than the total.
- Whether the attack was gender-based, who was responsible, type of media and support requested have been asked since October 2026, so they cover recent reports only.
- These figures reflect what was reported to IAWRT, not every incident that happened. Many attacks on women journalists go unreported.
