Female television journalist arrested after hosting an interview

On 20 September 2026, Virginie Manganga, a music journalist and television presenter with Antenne A television, was detained by five agents from the prosecutor’s office as she left the television station in Kinshasa. The arrest followed an interview she hosted with a woman who made allegations involving musician Fally Ipupa. Virginie Manganga was charged with defamation and dissemination of false information and was held in detention while facing possible prosecution.
