NBS reporter Victoria Bagaya was confronted by an unknown man while reporting a story live in downtown Kampala. The man, who appeared irritated by the presence of media cameras, shouted at Bagaya, saying, “You lady, this is not a place to handle your stuff, (shit) ” as she delivered her piece to camera in the busy trading area. Bagaya was visibly disrupted but tried to calmly respond to the man, who went as far as touching her hand in a confrontational manner, ultimately forcing her to cut the broadcast short. Incidents like this raise serious questions about the safety of female journalists, especially when reporting from environments where their security is not guaranteed. Downtown Kampala is often associated with drug abuse and individuals with untreated mental health challenges, making it a particularly unpredictable and unsafe space for field reporters link of the video here https://x.com/i/status/1991524205184315752
