On 8 December, members of the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed journalist Hanan Adam and her brother, Youssef Adam, in their home in Wad Al-Asha, eastern-central al-Gezira state. She was a correspondent for al-Midan, a local Sudan Communist Party-affiliated newspaper. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins its affiliate, the Sudanese Journalists Union (SJU), in condemning the heinous killing, and calls for a swift investigation.
