Vision Media Group Journalist Beaten When Covering FDC Press Conference

Nowamani Ainembabazi , a journalist at Vision Media Group was beaten up by unknown thugs while on duty covering a press conference at Forum for Democratic Change party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.The president of Uganda Journalists Association condemned the attacks and called for speedy investigations into the incident that left other journalists in Ms. Nowamani’s company injured, while others lost their equipment. The party president Patrick Amuriat condemned the attack on the journalists, citing that the FDC party recognizes the media as great allies in the fight for democracy in Uganda and acknowledged their critical role in informing and educating the masses.
